  • (γ,n) reaction
    1. compare neutron flux with different gamma sources (Th or U? for U, 2.4 MeV is close to the resonance energy)
    2. increase the neutron flux by increasing source activity or Be target thickness
    3. measurements with varying thicknesses of the PE moderator for MC validations
  • GAGG detector
    1. Delayed coincidences and contamination values shall be finalized and inserted into the paper
    2. thermal neutron Am-Be data processed
  • LaBr3 detector
    1. measure the half-life of the 215Po's mother nucleus, 219Rn
    2. systematic uncertainties need to be considered
      1. producing fake data and process them with the same procedures as with the real data
      2. consider a linear background model, instead of a flat one
      3. adjust the time binning
      4. check the fit method, use least square fitting (For ROOT: try “IEL” fit option)
      5. adjust the energy window
  • Simulating the Am-Be neutron spectrum
    1. Setup optimization (regarding crystal size, quality(cleaner than now) etc.)
    2. deadline for the funding expense is this summer

    1. surrounded by plastic scintialltors as muon veto and moderator
    2. SIPM instead of photomultiplier
